### Day 017: Call me Homeless Michael Phelps **Intentionally homeless rating:** 0.9 **Intentionalities:** - Listened to Jordan Peterson podcasts. - Patreon Cub hood video done. - Someone prayed for me today when I told him I was intentionally homeless at McDonald's (I don't believe in God, but I'm agnostic). **Homeless problems:** - Spent 3 hours on public transportation. - Michael Phelps tent slightly flooded. - Rained on me all day. - Spent 4 hours at the laundromat cleaning everything. - Blew dry my air mattress. - No workout, shower, or meditation. Last night, around 3 AM, I woke up to rain. The zipper on my tent is broken, and the makeshift security I have is duct tape. As a result, all the water came straight through. I felt like Michael Phelps training for my gold medal. The tent material soaked through, and the top piece of the tent was flying off, letting rain in from the top. After two hours of rain, I just said, "Fuck it," and waited it out. Once I got out, I figured I needed to go to the dollar store. I make sure to look clean and draw as little suspicion as possible when I enter stores, pulling out my phone to show I have money. Big black trash bags, a hairdryer to dry my air mattress, and maybe a 10 x 10 tarp for the tent are on my list. At Walmart, I remind myself to stay focused on my goals despite distractions. I got heavy-duty trash bags, and even though it rains only 30 to 40 days a year in Arizona, I happened to catch one of those days. This discomfort gives me empathy and compassion for those who endure this hardship unintentionally.
