- Episode 403- Lorne: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night with Susan Morrison
In this episode I spoke with Susan Morrison about her book "Lorne: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night Live". Over the fifty years that Lorne Michaels has been at the helm of Saturday Night Live, he has become a revered and inimitable presence in the entertainment world. He’s a tastemaker, a mogul, a withholding father figure, a genius spotter of talent, a shrewd businessman, a name-dropper, a raconteur, the inspiration for Dr. Evil, the winner of more than a hundred Emmys—and, essentially, a mystery
- LORNE: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night Live with Susan Morrison and Bob Odenkirk
As Saturday Night Live marks its 50th anniversary, celebrate the genius behind one of television's most enduring cultural institutions — Lorne Michaels. In her definitive biography, Lorne: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night Life , Susan Morrison — articles editor at The New Yorker — gains unprecedented access to Michaels himself, along with SNL 's iconic cast and writers, offering a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the man who reshaped American comedy. With razor-sharp insight and hundreds of interviews, Morrison reveals the warts-and-all portrait of Michaels: a visionary tastemaker, a shrewd businessman, a relentless perfectionist, and the enigmatic force behind SNL 's star-making machine. From Will Ferrell to Tina Fey, John Mulaney to Chris Rock, the legends who defined the show open up about the comedy god who made it all possible. Joining Morrison is comedian, writer, and SNL alum Bob Odenkirk, who once called Michaels "some kind of very distant, strange comedy god." Together, they'll dive into the obsessive brilliance of a man whose influence reaches far beyond late-night TV — and discuss the star-studded 50th-anniversary special that reminded the world why Saturday Night Live still matters. Expect stories, revelations, and plenty of laughs in this unmissable conversation about the genius who forever changed the face of comedy.
- Episode 172: Focal Points with Susan Morrison
Susan Morrison , owner and principal designer at Creative Exteriors Landscape Design , has created hundreds of gardens in California's East Bay area. Her designs incorporate comfortable outdoor rooms into landscapes of all sizes, from hillside estates to postage-stamp front yards. Susan's home garden features thoughtfully arranged spaces for relaxing and entertaining enfolded in an artful, water-wise plant palette. Focal point plants in key locations draw the eye through the landscape, inviting visitors to explore. In this episode, Susan describes her thought process for siting focal point plants, and shares some of the eye-catching cultivars she uses most often.
- Reducing Pain: A Client Case Study with Susan Morrison - C-IAYT Yoga Therapist Trainee
It's such a privilege to bring Susan Morrison back to the podcast for another conversation about her experience in the recent Therapeutic Yoga Intensive, specifically how she has applied the concepts learned in that program to her own practice and clientele since graduating. Listen to hear about concepts such as the healing helix, a client's compelling reason, and meeting patients where they are. We're also addressing a patient's range of motion and how to expand that range to reduce tension and compensation patterns to promote healing.
