- In Conversation with Nish Kumar | ep. 135
Named one of The Guardian and The Telegraph’s Top 50 Comedians of the 21st Century, Nish Kumar has come to stand out from the stand-up crowd. With his politically-charged brand of funny, he has sought out and established his own space in the entertainment scene. As co-host of Pod Save the UK , Nish melds comedy with commentary to bring light and resolution to the ever-growing sense of bleakness in British politics (including on an episode with Compass Director, Neal Lawson, back in 2023). As host of The Mash Report in the late-2010’s, The Bugle, and regular appearances on your TV screens on successful shows such as Taskmaster , Nish has come to be one of the most recognisable figures in British entertainment. So join us as Nish Kumar dissects a turbulent autumn in British politics and sets out the landscape for what on earth progressives need to do between now and the next election. - S4 EP15: A Complete Unknown with Nish Kumar
There’s a podcast about Bob Dylan released now called Gig Pigs (what a title!). Nish Kumar is starring in the guest role. Nish is a brilliant podcaster so we were sure he’d be completely believable about Bob. Or a younger Bob. Or some other Bob. The podcast was recorded after the Pigs and Nish watched A Complete Unknown – a nailed on Oscar winner that came out in 2025. It’s a fantastic retelling of events from the early ‘60s that led up to the fiasco at Newport. After you’ve listened to the podcast give it a review! Learn more about your ad choices. - Make Nando's, Not War - with Nish Kumar
In the latest episode of 'We're Not Kidding', Mehdi's in London (again!) and this time chatting with the Nando's-loving comedian and host of 'Pod Save the UK' Nish Kumar. We promise you will laugh – and maybe even cry of laughter. Nish and Mehdi lead with that - their shared love of Nando's - and how, as Nish describes, it's the only thing uniting a fragmented British society right now. The two also get deep into what that fragmented society looks like: the far-right, racist-fueled riots that took hold of the country this summer where more than 1,000 people were arrested, the post-October 7 resurgence of Islamophobia and anti-Muslim sentiment (that feels a lot like the 9/11-era), and how it's echoed across the pond, in the US. Nish and Mehdi also talk biryani (who does it best), Gaza, Netanyahu and even Indian prime minister Narendra Modi. - Would you vote for a politician in a thong bikini? - With Nish Kumar
Would you rather vote in Love Island or in the General Election? Would you prefer to talk about STIs or politics? Would seeing a politician in a thong bikini make you vote? In this first episode of The Turnout, Grace meets comedian Nish Kumar and asks students at Westminster Kingsway College why they’re NOT planning to vote and what would get them to the polls. Nish also talks about how politicians can appeal to Grace’s generation, the policies that might appeal and they discuss her chances of getting a date with Rishi and Keir. Want to hear more from Nish? Check him out wherever you get your podcasts on Pod Save the UK!
- When We Were Kings with Nish Kumar
Sam Clements is curating a fictional film festival. He'll accept almost anything, but the movie must not be longer than 90 minutes. This is the 90 Minutes Or Less Film Fest podcast. In episode 122 Sam is joined by Nish Kumar, comedian and co-host of Pod Save The UK podcast. Nish has chosen the Oscar-winning When We Were Kings (89 mins). Directed by Leon Gast, the 1996 documentary follows the legendary Rumble In The Jungle boxing match between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali. Sam and Nish discuss the political background of the Rumble In The Jungle, why the film took 20 years to make, and how Nish's Dad took him to see Muhammad Ali at the Whitgift Centre in Croydon. - With Sophie Duker & Nish Kumar
In the first ever episode of Transplaining, Jordan Gray answers a big and a small question from Nish Kumar, with the assistance of guest co-host Sophie Duker. Minestrone, Norway bursting into flames and saucy Harry Potter fan fiction form part of the unlikely solutions to Nish’s queries relating to climate change and football. Jordan also deals with your questions - with a slutty pig featuring prominently in the handling of one particular correspondence about Halloween costumes. Please be aware this podcast discusses adult themes and includes swearing. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
- Brabant- with Nish Kumar
Welcome back! It's a new season of Getting Emotional and it's a bumper episode! This week we're talking about the word 'Brabant', invented in the 80s by writer Douglas Adams (author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) and TV producer John Lloyd. Yes, it's the name of a principality of the Netherlands, but it's also the word for the joy you feel in pushing someone's buttons. It's a fun game- how far can you push them, will you get them annoyed, and will they appreciate this teasing? So I tried to find someone who was good at pushing boundaries. Basically, I needed an expert, a prefessional button-pusher. Then I remembered: comedians! They do that all the time! Sure, they're funny, but they also exist to make us think, annoy us, be a bit provocative. So I found a really good one to talk to- Nish Kumar. In our chat we talk about all types of comedy- from Tim Vine to Stewart Lee, The Simpsons to The Office. They all use button-pushing, in various ways and for different reasons. Nish tells me about how he pushes the audience when he's on stage; teasing them, but also making sure he doesn't tip over into just being mean. Because there's a fine line between 'teasing' and 'cruelty', as he tells us here in a story from his early stand-up days. Plus, there's just no sport in it. So Nish and I take a deep-dive into how to how he manages, and holds, an audience effectively. But teasing isn't just for comedians- it's for the school joker, the undeniable flirt, the squabbling siblings. And because of that, I think there's something quite sweet about it. Maybe the joy of teasing doesn't come from annoying the other person, but from knowing that you both have the shared in-jokes, history and sense of humour with the other person to make it possible. It's a bond, a connection, a warmth. Isn't it..? Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/getting-emotional . See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
- *PREVIEW* The Pragmatic Nut feat. Nish Kumar
This week, we've brought on Nish Kumar ( @mrnishkumar ) to once again listen to a horrible 'taut, sexy, political thriller' by a former MP -- this time one by Vince Cable. It sucks really bad but Riley, Milo, Hussein, and Alice had a great time and Nish suffered the English curse yet again. - A Quick Trip Across the Pond — Interview with Nish Kumar
This week's episode is a family reunion of sorts! Our guest is the extremely funny comedian Nish Kumar, host of the Quibi series "Hello, America." He also happens to be Nikki's cousin! In this episode we touch on navigating a career in comedy (both in the UK & the US) and how Nish shared his passions and stand-up performances with his parents. Nish and Nikki's stories about their family will certainly warm your heart, and to date, this episode might be the most we've ever laughed! And don't forget to check out Nish on "Hello, America." Streaming on Quibi RIGHT. NOW.
- Living Together with Nish Kumar and Amy Annette
Comedians Nish Kumar and Amy Annette join Catherine Bohart and Sarah Keyworth to chat about making a home together. In the podcast that rejects romantic tropes, Nish and Amy talk about setting alarms, Nish's nesting habits and mutual rejections. Produced by Kate Holland and Lyndsay Fenner. A Whistledown production for BBC Radio 4
- *UNLOCKED* World of Moggcraft feat. Nish Kumar
In this unlocked bonus episode, we're talking Jacob Rees-Mogg's history: his book 'The Victorians' might be the single worst collection of words that Riley's ever subjected himself to (so far), and we've brought on friend of the show Nish Kumar (@ mrnishkumar ) to discuss it. You might even call it a 'Horrible History,' but that would be anti-British drivel! We've also just released part 2 of this review with Nish, which you can get on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/34742880 *LONDON LIVE SHOW ALERT* We’ll be playing at Vauxhall Comedy on Wednesday, March 11 at 7.30 pm!
