  • ‘The Bad Fish Paradigm’ with Chuck Lorre

Helping break down the first episode of Season 2 is “Big Bang” co-creator Chuck Lorre. Onscreen during this episode, Leonard and Penny face the aftermath of their first date. Chuck reveals that behind the scenes, he had recently learned that co-stars Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki were dating. He shares how Kaley told him and his hilarious reaction. Chuck also recalls Jim Parsons’ audition for Sheldon, and how he transformed the character of Sheldon into something they had never even considered. Plus, how Chuck’s first trip to Comic-Con helped him realize the true power of “The Big Bang Theory.” © 2025 WBEI. THE BIG BANG THEORY characters and elements are © & TM WBEI. Hosted on Acast. In the inaugural episode of “The Official Big Bang Theory Podcast,” host Jessica Radloff is joined by the show’s co-creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre and former chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group Peter Roth. Chuck and Peter take us back to the very beginning as they discuss the original, unaired pilot. They reveal how they got a highly unusual second chance to create another pilot after the first one wasn’t picked up. Plus, they explain why they steered away from the risqué tone that was prominent in the first pilot and why they recast the role of Penny. • Billy Gardell on ‘Bob Hearts Abishola,’ working with Chuck Lorre

Billy Gardell knows he’s a lucky man. After a successful run as police officer Mike Biggs alongside Melissa McCarthy in “Mike and Molly,” he took a short sitcom break but got right back in the game when mega-producer Chuck Lorre called him up and said he had him in mind for a new, original comedy. Chuck Lorre is of course the creator of all-time great shows like “The Big Bang Theory” and “Two and a Half Men.” Fast forward to now, where Billy’s about to wrap up the season one finale of his comedy “BOB HEARTS ABISHOLA” – airing Monday, April 13th at 8:30PM on CBS-2. John Ratzenberger from “Cheers” guest stars in the finale! Billy made it a point to start our interview by thanking everyone in New York for our strength and leadership during these uncertain times, thank you Billy!
