- Low Tech, No Tech Accessibility Considerations with Sarah Silverman
Welcome to Ep 163: Low Tech, No Tech Accessibility Considerations with Sarah Silverman. Sarah Silverman, PhD is an independent faculty developer and instructor of Disability Studies. As an autistic educator, she has a personal stake in Neurodiversity as well as extensive college teaching and faculty development experience. Her interests include accessible and feminist pedagogy, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and the history of the neurodiversity movement. Her book Classroom Mindscapes : An Introduction to Neurodiversity for Educators is forthcoming from the University of Oklahoma Press in September. In this conversation, Sarah and I discuss options for faculty members who are considering low tech, no tech, or more analog classroom activities or educational environments. We talk about access friction and decisions that might need to be considered in order to meet the needs of current students with competing access and technology needs. Sarah has been recently working on this topic and will have an upcoming workshop on this on July 21st. If you are listening to this podcast before or after that date in 2026, you’ll be able to find the sign-up or the results of that session in this episode’s resource section just before the transcript on ThinkUDL.org . - Sarah Silverman Interview: Her Journey from Saturday Night Live to Marry Me
Sarah Silverman ’s had a one-of-a-kind journey in this industry, making the most of the exceptional comedic chops that have been on display since day one and also building on that skill set more and more with each new project. With her newest feature film, Marry Me , now in theaters and available to stream on Peacock, Silverman took the time to join us for an episode of Collider Ladies Night to retrace her steps from her earliest inspirations to her latest releases. As for Marry Me , that one stars Jennifer Lopez as Kat Valdez, a music superstar who’s also a power couple with the hugely popular Bastian ( Maluma ). Just before getting married in front of a massive concert crowd, Kat comes to learn that Bastian’s been cheating on her. She goes back out on stage anyway and spirals, making the impulsive decision to marry someone in the audience instead — Owen Wilson ’s Charlie Gilbert. The spontaneous stunt turns into so much more when the two really do develop feelings for one another. But, can the connection last when they come from such different worlds? Check out this edition of Collider Ladies Night to hear all about why Silverman chose work over college, her one-year run on Saturday Night Live , why Sarah Polley 's Take This Waltz made such a big impression on her, what wowed her most while watching Lopez work, and so much more!
