Hoy en el tejado sonará un disco absolutamente mítico. Viajamos al año 1974. En ese momento nuestro protagonista, el saxofonista Wayme Shorter era ya una auténtica estrella del jazz. Había participado en los Jazz Messengers de Art Blackey, había trabajado junto a Maynard Ferguson y también había sido una parte esencial en el segundo gran quinteto de Miles Davis. Por si eso fuera poco Shorter había formado junto al pianista y teclista Joe Zawinul una de las bandas más importantes de la historia del jazz reciente, los Weather Report. En un viaje a Brasil a principios de los 70s Wayne Shorter conoció la música de Milton Nacimiento a través de otra mítica grabación, el celebrado Clube da Esquina que ha sido constante fuente de inspiración para algunos enormes músicos norteamericanos como Pat Metheny o George Duke. Wayne decidió proponer una colaboración al entonces joven y desconocido músico. El resultado es uno de los discos más potentes de la historia del fusión jazz, el celebrado Native Dancer que os traemos hoy al tejado.
