- Indian Men Are Too Much Work? | Ft Kaneez Surka
Kaneez Surka is back in India and within minutes this episode turns into absolute Cock & Bull chaos. We start with her “Foreign Returns” tour and somehow end up debating marriage, men being “too much work,” NRIs with identity confusion, and whether Vikhroli was secretly named after Virat Kohli. (It wasn’t. We think.) Somewhere in between, we spiral into: – A doctor scoring 9/800 and still getting a PG seat – Social media bans for kids under 16 – Identical twins with identical JEE scores – A ₹1 lakh luxury shirt that looks iron-burnt – A student trying to pass exams with a ₹100 bribe – And an AI expo controversy that raised more questions than answers It’s loud, it’s messy, it’s wildly opinionated and very classic Cock & Bull. If you enjoy conversations that start in South Bombay and somehow end in Vikhroli (via Bill Gates), this one’s for you. #CyrusSays #CockAndBull #KaneezSurka #Podcast #IndianComedy See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
- Finding Home Within: Comedy, Identity & Community with Kaneez Surka| Catalyst of Change Ep. 25
In this heartfelt and hilariously honest episode of Catalyst of Change, host Alexia Cito sits down with internationally acclaimed comedian, actor, and writer Kaneez Surka, who shares her journey of navigating identity, belonging, and womanhood—one laugh at a time. From growing up during apartheid in South Africa, to building India’s comedy scene from scratch, to performing in New York City, Kaneez offers a deeply personal reflection on what it means to find your people in a borderless world. With raw humor and profound insight, this episode explores: - Comedy as activism: how laughter becomes a lens for societal critique. - From “fish out of water” to global performer—on belonging everywhere and nowhere. - Why community is the antidote to modern loneliness and the next frontier of mental health. - Aging with pride: rejecting the expiry-date narrative on women’s worth. - The power of spiritual growth and building a life that expands—like a tree, not a ladder. This conversation is a celebration of freedom, feminine power, and finding home within yourself—whether you’re on stage, in a new city, or deep in self-discovery. Catch Kaneez Surka live on her world tour and in her upcoming comedy special, "I Found My People." 🎧 Tune in and let this episode remind you that we are all part of a larger harmony. #ComedyWithPurpose #WomenInComedy #GlobalIdentity #SpiritualFeminism #CatalystOfChange #IAmMyOwnHome #CommunityIsEverything

- Re-Air Love Can Change The World
We had so much fun with SublimeLuv and Kaneez Surka that we decided to air it twice! SublimeLuv and Kaneez Surka visit friends and discuss spoken word, poetry, mental health wellness, christians stepping away from gender roles and more with host Marina Franklin. SublimeLuv (aka Sublime) is a powerful spoken word and teaching artist, author, curator, facilitator, public speaker, and social justice advocate. SublimeLuv's work embodies the theme of the "personal as political." She exists in this world as a Black Queer woman with a mental illness. Her life and experiences living in her body often fuel her poems. She changed her artist name to SublimeLuv in 2012 when she began to perform more often. Sublime means "supreme, outstanding." She chose to spell l-o-v-e as l-u-v because she views Luv as a revolutionary tool. Luv signifies Black love, love for the oppressed, queer love, trans love, and disabled love. When we practice Luv, we fiercely love ourselves and each other no matter how worthy or unworthy we are deemed by society. Luv is activism and resistance. We need revolutionary Luv today. Kaneez Surka has produced and performed in her Netflix Special, 'Ladies Up', Netflix's 'Comedy Premium League,' and Amazon Prime Video's Improv specials, 'Something From Nothing' and 'Improv All Stars - Games Night.' Kaneez is also known for her comedic acting. Her short film, 'The Shaila(s)' was selected for the Voot Select Film Festival. - Divorce isn't a dirty word ft. Kaneez Surka
In this episode, we hear from listener Kheyali, who is struggling with wearing the "divorcee" label as a young woman in India. The divorce rate may have doubled in the country over the past two decades but at around 1%, it's still very low – and widely frowned upon. Women bear the brunt of society's judgement. They're most often blamed for marriage breakdowns and find themselves penalized for being without a husband even in seemingly simple things like trying to get their own apartment. Kheyali asks how she can overcome labels attached to being single and divorced at 30? How can she stand up to those who blame her for the end of her marriage? To help answer these questions, comedian and actor Kaneez Surka joins Evelyn to provide her insights into tackling the stigma and shame associated with being divorced India, the strength it takes to leave a marriage, and the joy and freedom one can find in learning to be on their own again. - 4. Kaneez Surka: Let Her Do
South African born stand up comic, actor, vlogger, and improv star Kaneez Surka grew up in a former apartheid Bantustan (The Republic of the Transkei) before embarking on a gap year to India. Eighteen gap years later she visited my house to discuss her remarkable trajectory to Indian fame, how we both landed up presenting the same titled show on different continents, and her shameful lack of cricket knowledge. Unfortunately my hopes of expanding my repertoire of Hindi swear-words remain unfulfilled, along with my intention of establishing how I, as a forty-four year old cisgender heterosexual white male could become an Indian YouTube Star. Other than that we had a lot of fun. Please enjoy this conversation with my long lost chaddi buddy, the fabulously talented Kaneez Surka. Find Kaneez @kaneezsurka on all socials.
