  • The Love Offering - Finding Faith and Purpose After Loss with Cheri Fletcher
    LifeAudio

Have you ever walked through a season when simply making it through the day felt like all you could manage? Maybe grief has changed everything. Perhaps the future looks nothing like you imagined, or someone you love is hurting, and you don’t know what to say. When life feels this heavy, people often encourage us to “hang in there.” But what happens when we no longer have the strength to keep holding on? My guest on this week’s episode of The Love Offering Podcast, Cheri Fletcher, shared a truth I haven’t stopped...

  • Leaning on Faith And Community After Losing Annie, with Cheri Fletcher

Thirteen days can change an entire family’s history. We sit down with Cheri Fletcher to remember her daughter Annie, a 29-year-old singer-songwriter, social worker, and photographer whose sudden decline ended in an unthinkable goodbye. With honesty and tenderness, Cheri walks us through what it’s like to lose an adult child to an aggressive cancer she did not even know was there, and how shock lingers long after the hospital. We also get practical about what grief really does. Cheri describes grief brain, the fog that makes reading hard and memory unreliable, the physical exhaustion that settles into daily life, and the way fear can spike when another loved one is late to return a call. We talk marriage and family dynamics, why counseling can help couples grieve in different ways without turning on each other, and how giving space and grace becomes a daily decision. A major thread is faith in suffering. When prayer feels impossible, Cheri shares how God met her through friends who kept sending scripture and personalized prayers, and how she learned to see God’s presence without minimizing pain. She also offers a perspective that stopped her in my tracks: God misses watching Annie too. Finally, we dig into the moment so many people dread: “I don’t know what to say.” Cheri created “Beyond I Don’t Know What To Say” grief cards to help friends and churches show up with courage, ask meaningful questions, and keep a child’s name present. • Beyond “I Don’t Know What to Say”: Navigating Grief Conversations with Grace with Cheri Fletcher Ep 224
    Fierce Calling

Hi Friend, Welcome back to Fierce Calling! In today’s heartfelt episode, Doris sits down with her dear friend and sister in Christ, Cheri Fletcher, to discuss how to navigate grief conversations, honor precious memories, and find purpose through life’s deepest losses. After the loss of her daughter Annie in 2023, Cheri created Beyond “I Don’t Know What to Say” Grief Cards, a resource designed to spark meaningful conversations and keep memories of loved ones alive. Together, they talk about the importance of open communication in grief, and how your God-given purpose endures even as your roles in life change. Whether you’re walking through grief or supporting someone who is, this episode offers encouragement, practical tools, and a powerful reminder: our purpose in Christ is eternal. ???? Episode Highlights & Key Takeaways Grief shouldn’t be silent: Open dialogue, even with simple questions, can bring incredible comfort to those mourning. Sometimes, just asking “What has this week been like for you?” means more than “How are you?”. Everyone’s grieving journey is unique: Cheri’s experience highlighted that roles in life may change, but our purpose—to glorify and magnify God—remains eternal. Support can be simple and brave: Reaching out, mentioning a loved one’s name, or just showing up with a kind gesture makes all the difference. “Communication doesn’t have to be complicated, even if grief is.” Our roles may change, but our God-given purpose stays the same If you or someone you know is walking through loss, check out these conversation cards shared at cherifletcher.com, and let’s be intentional about supporting each other. ???? #GriefSupport #Purpose #FierceCalling #Connection #Legacy #Faith ???? A quiet place in grief community Raise the Sail: Annie’s Hallmark Dream Realized Cheri Fletcher is the creator of Beyond “I Don’t Know What to Say” Grief Communication Cards—a gentle tool designed to open the door to meaningful conversations that bring comfort, connection, and the sharing of stories that keep precious memories alive. Her prayer is that these cards help others move past silence and into presence. She holds a simple but profound belief: grief is complicated, but communication doesn’t have to be. Cheri and her husband, Todd, moved to Cleveland, Tennessee, in 2020 after nearly 30 years in Washington. They are grateful parents of two married sons and their wives, and they carry the memory of their cherished daughter, Annie, who passed away in 2023. After Annie’s passing, Cheri’s work deepened as she began giving language to the lived experience of grief. Drawing from her own journey through loss, change, and faith, she now walks alongside others who find themselves asking, “Now what?”—gently helping them move toward “What’s next?” with hope, honesty, and a spiritual game plan for the unexpected. Through her writing, speaking, and community, Cheri reminds others that while our roles may change, our purpose is eternal—and that even in life’s hardest moments, we are not holding on alone… we are held. <p class="wp-block-paragraph

  • 280 | We Are Held with Cheri Fletcher

“What if hope isn’t about holding on—but about being held?” In today's episode, I had the privilege to sit down with Cheri Fletcher—a writer, speaker, and flash mob aficionado—who shares the story of her daughter Annie, a vibrant young woman whose life reflected creativity, compassion, and faith. Cheri opens up about the sudden medical crisis that took Annie’s life at just 29, the ache of surrendering to God’s will, and the unshakable truth that we are never left to simply “hang in there”—we are held by the God who goes before us. Drawing from passages like Deuteronomy 31:8 and Isaiah 41:10, she reminds us that even when life shatters, God’s presence remains steady and sure. We also talk about Cheri’s new project, the Grief Communication Cards , a set of thoughtful prompts designed to help grieving families and friends talk more openly about their loved ones. I'm planning to use these cards with my own family this holiday season as a way to remember and celebrate our daughter Hannah as well as others who have gone to Heaven in our family. • You are Just a Mom: Lies Good Moms Believe with Cheri Fletcher

Welcome to my new series, LIES GOOD MOMS BELIEVE! Over the next 11 weeks I am going to be joined by some amazing guests, and together we are going to dedicate each episode to calling out a common lie the enemy speaks to the hearts of Moms. We’re going to measure that lie against the truth of scripture, offer you some practical advice and Biblical encouragement through discussion and then end our time with a simple but powerful prayer to equip you to take these lies head on whenever they try and sneak their way into your mind. In today’s first episode of this new mini-series, we are going to tackle the lie: I’m “just” a mom And here to help me in this discussion is Cheri Fletcher. Cheri is a writer, speaker, singer and the host of Your Spiritual Game Plan podcast. She loves to help women develop a spiritual game plan so that they can live out the purpose God created for them. She wants to share the message of just how intentionally you were made to be a part of God’s plan. Through her writings, speaking and podcast guest it is her desire to equip you with an understanding of the enemy’s plot against that very plan. You can learn more about Cheri through her website ! • Ep 124 A Legacy of Your Spiritual Game Plan with Cheri Fletcher

Cheri Fletcher is my younger twin—an enneagram 7 with a great smile and desire to help women and young people find their purpose, no matter what they may be facing. While watching her husband coach basketball, she recognized that we all need a "game plan" if we are going to endure the normal trials and troubles of this world. Once we know the plan and our purpose, we can thwart Satan at his own game to sideline us from what God intends for our lives. Our purpose? To show who God is to everyone we meet. Our legacy? To build into our kids a clear understanding of spiritual warfare. God has a plan and Satan has a plot to wreck that plan. Cheri says: I want our kids to have a very clear understanding of the war that is going on for their attention, mental health, salvation, marriage, their life! To fully grasp that God has had a plan for them all along and the enemy has had a plot against it. When things are hard—to be able to step back, to fully KNOW that God is already victorious and that with a spiritual game plan in place, they are too. Sounds like a great plan to me! Cheri Fletcher is a writer, speaker, singer and the host of Your Spiritual Game Plan podcast. She loves to help women develop a spiritual game plan so that they can live out the purpose God created for them. She wants to share the message of how intentionally you were made to be a part of God’s plan. Through her writings, speaking and podcast guests, it is her desire to equip you with an understanding of the enemy’s plot against that very plan. She and her husband Todd are empty nesters and have just moved from Seattle WA to Cleveland Tennessee. They have three grown children and 1 dog, Libby. You can find out more about Cheri on her website Cherifletcher.com From Cheri, when I asked her for a favorite recipe: A recipe --- Hmmmm, well, it is a vegetarian one that is a staple at all holidays. The very first time that my mom made it my dad (an avid meat eater) said: "Well, for dog food that tasted pretty good!" My 5-year-old brother decided to tell everyone that we had dog food for Thanksgiving and thus - we still serve dog food at every Thanksgiving meal and I have had several friends who grew up in my life ask me for my dog food recipe. • Lies Good Moms Believe: You Are "Just" A Mom with Cheri Fletcher

Welcome to my new series, LIES GOOD MOMS BELIEVE! Over the next 12 weeks I am going to be joined by some amazing guests, and together we are going to dedicate each episode to calling out a common lie the enemy speaks to the hearts of Moms. Today's guest is writer, speaker and host of the Your Spiritual Game Plan podcast, Cheri Fletcher! We’re going to measure each lie against the truth of scripture, offer you some practical advice and Biblical encouragement through discussion and then end our time with a simple but powerful prayer to equip you to take these lies head on whenever they try and sneak their way into your mind. Notice I am calling this series Lies GOOD Moms Believe because I want to point out that we all struggle with feeling like we are not good moms at one time or another. My goal throughout this series is to encourage you that you are, in fact, a good mom and you are in good company, Momma. I believe the enemy knows we are all vulnerable in this area and he delights in hammering us with doubt, guilt, regret, fear - all in the form of complete and total lies. and that is why I am passionate about encouraging women to recognize the lies the enemy speaks to them so that they can call it out and put it in its right and proper place which is squashed under the authority of God. Here’s the thing we have to remember: The enemy knows we cannot be effective for the gospel both in and outside of our homes if we are bogged down by or agreeing with the lies the enemy feeds us. And that’s his plan. To derail, distract and disable us from making a difference for the kingdom of God as wives, moms, employees, volunteers - in whatever role He has given us to fulfill. So over these next few moments, can I challenge you to turn off all distractions and really dive into our time together? I believe God has a word for you, to empower you to begin to identify when the enemy speaks lies to your Momma heart and to shut him down with all the authority He gives you through Christ Jesus. • How to Grow a Strong Marriage Through the Changes of Life - with Cheri Fletcher

Our life as a couple brings one transition after another. For Rob and I, we’ve added babies to our family and sent young adults out into the world. Job changes sent us cross-country and turned our routines upside-down. For years Joanna was a stay-at-home homeschooling parent, but now she’s working and sending our son off to school each day. Like us, you’ve had to face the changes of life as a couple. Those transitions can pull you together or create stress that drives you apart. That’s why we’re happy to welcome our guest Cheri Fletcher to the podcast today. Cheri and her husband Todd have experienced empty nesting and a crisis that forced them to change their lives in nearly every way. Cheri is here with great experience to help us understand The unforeseen events that forced Cheri and Todd to change their lives The losses and grief that come with change How God holds on to you so you don’t have to stay strong by yourself How to grow in empathy for each other’s unique needs and emotions How to approach life’s changes as a team Why you can celebrate the “new” God is putting in your life The ways a couple can “divorce-proof” their relationship in times of loss and change Cheri Fletcher is a writer, speaker, singer, and the host of Your Spiritual Game Plan podcast. Click to Text Thoughts on Today's Episode Try as we may to prevent it, injury happens. Sometimes it's preventable (like those caused by overuse and/or not enough rest). And sometimes we step off the back of a U-Haul and BAM (or more precisely, SNAP) your MCL is torn. Today's episode is a two-part interview with my friend, Cheri Fletcher. Our first discussion centers around her preparing for MCL surgery. She shares her concerns, her plans for her downtime (because she's a driver like me and never stops moving), and the irony of what she feels God is teacher her through this. Then I catch up with her again about 10 days post surgery to see how she's recovering, feeling (mentally and physically) and if she indeed was able to BE STILL.
