What happened to Anita Sarkeesian — the feminist media critic who took on gaming culture and became the catalyst for Gamergate — and why did her influence collapse so completely? Then we explore her quiet fade: Patreon revenue dropping, new videos ceasing, Twitter dormancy, and her retreat from public intellectual life after a 2023 podcast appearance admitted burnout and disillusionment with online activism. We analyze whether Gamergate won, whether the industry genuinely changed (less "damsel in distress," more female protagonists — but also more harassment), and why both her fans and her enemies eventually lost interest.
