Join acclaimed novelist and poet Victoria Redel with Sarah Jessica Parker and editor Adam Moss for a conversation about Redel's absorbing new novel, I Am You , published by Parker's literary imprint, SJP Lit. In this gorgeously crafted historical fiction set in 17th-century Holland, Redel excavates the long-overlooked story of one of the few female Dutch Masters painters, Maria van Oosterwijck, and the complex relationship she developed with her maidservant-turned-apprentice, Gerta Pieters. Following these two women as they navigate the ranks of an elite, male-dominated art world, Redel weaves a story that Sarah Jessica Parker calls "spellbinding… and impossible to forget" — a queer romance for the ages, an ode to artistic creation, and an unforgettable love story set against the heady, sensuous backdrop of the Dutch Golden Age. Praised by novelist Michael Cunningham as "a stunning accomplishment . . . a story of ferocious insights into the human psyche and the drive to create art," hailed by author Benjamin Moser as "an unforgettable picture of the erotic, entangled, tragic nature of art itself," and lauded by novelist Melissa Febos as "a profound achievement," I Am You proves how art reshapes conversations on sexual politics, class, women's rights, and how we tell and retell our histories. In celebration of its launch, hear Redel, Parker, and Moss discuss the novel — how Redel wrote a new kind of queer love story and tale of art history, what made Parker know that she had to share it with the world, and more.
Just in time for Mother’s Day, we are celebrating two, very special mothers this week…educator, mother (of 8), grandmother (of 13) and dear friend, Barbara Forste, and her daughter, award-winning actress, producer and publisher, Sarah Jessica Parker. Barbara Forste is a lifelong supporter of the arts and of literacy and education. She worked in market research for Procter & Gamble, as a second grade teacher, and as a child-wrangler at the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Opera and the American Ballet Theater. She is a co-founder and director of The Children’s Circle, a national association for the education of young children. Her very busy daughter, Sarah Jessica Parker, has worked in theater since 1976 from the title role in Annie, to most recently with her husband, Matthew Broderick, in the revival of Neil Simon‘s comedy play, Plaza Suite . From theater to television and film, Sarah Jessica is known most widely for her portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City and its sequel, And Just Like That; as well as the films based on the show, Sex and the City, and Sex and the City 2. Sarah Jessica is the publisher of SJP Lit, her own imprint in partnership with Zando Books. She recently executive produced the documentary, The Librarians, a film highlighting librarians across the country who have been fighting against book bans. It will be available for streaming soon. Adelphi University hosted us at their annual Writers & Readers Festival this year where we were delighted to hold this conversation in front of a live audience of students, teachers, readers and writers. The Writers & Readers Festival was founded by Adelphi alumna and bestselling novelist Alice Hoffman. This is a conversation about how mothers can pass down their love of reading to change their children’s lives and ours. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

As one of the title sponsors of my RETAIL IN AMERICA tour, KWI, the industry's only true turnkey omnichannel platform for specialty retailers, has allowed me to engage with their fantastic customers. And one of them is SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker , her namesake footwear, handbags, and accessories brand. This conversation is entirely due to KWI' s strong relationship with its customers, and I am very grateful for our partnership and this opportunity. I would say that Sarah Jessica Parker needs no introduction, but let me share just a few highlights… She is most known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO television series Sex and the City , for which she won two Emmy Awards , four Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series , and three Screen Actors Guild Awards . The character was widely popular during the airing of the series and was later recognized as one of the most notable female characters in American television. She later reprised the role in the films Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010), and the most recent television show And Just Like That… .(2022) Sarah Jessica and her husband, Matthew Broderick , are currently starring on Broadway in Neil Simon 's Plaza Suite revival. In February 2014, she started SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker, a footwear line initially launched exclusively at Nordstrom that has grown into a global business sold in every major department store and a small fleet of her own brick-and-mortar locations around the world. This conversation was recorded in front of a small live audience at the end of April 2022, at her 54th street location in NYC, one that is very special to her as you will hear. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did! Ron A huge thank you to the three essential title sponsors fueling the <a href="https://www.retailpride.com/" rel="noopener norefe
Sarah Jessica Parker is mom to three wonderful children — James Wilkie, Loretta, and Tabitha. She is wife to Matthew Broderick, an actor, producer, entrepreneur, and an icon. Sarah owns or controls several successful business ventures, including Pretty Matches, her film and television production with HBO. In this conversation, she talks about shaping the future through her parenting, her platform, and by practicing curiosity. Sarah made her debut at the tender age of 11 in the revival of The Innocents and Broadway. By 12, she was starring on Annie, also on Broadway, and has never looked back. She has starred in several critically acclaimed movies and TV shows, including Square Pegs, Glee, and Divorce, but she is probably best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO television series Sex and the City. For Sex and the City, Sarah has won two Emmy awards, four Golden Globe awards for best actress in a comedy series, and three Screen Actor Guild awards. Although Sex and the City wrapped in 2004, Sarah reprised the role of Carrie Bradshaw in 2008 and 2010 for Sex and the City and Sex and the City 2. To our great delight, and just like that, SATC The Next Chapter is currently in the works with HBO Max. Sarah owns or controls several successful business ventures, including Pretty Matches, her film and television production with HBO; SJP Beauty, her fragrance line; and SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker, her fabulous line of shoes, all produced and handmade in Italy.
