☠ #22 | CaptainBlackbeard Radio | To William, With Love ☠ THE GREATEST EPIC AUDIO THRILL RIDE THE KING OF PIRATE RADIO RETURNS!!! This episode is about the people in Dark world. The Good people, The Bad People and The Shades of Gray they live within. In this episode, we give ye one of the biggest epics in CaptainBlackbeard Radio history. As we take ye into the underworld from the corruption and violence at the bottom of Mexico to the highest echelons of the United States government and how they’re all interconnected. Tensions are spilling over from the underworld and could inflame a war between the United States and Mexico with the boiling point being a confrontation between nations at the Gateway to the Americas International Bridge. Meet William Tell (Sean Connery), the man responsible for the creation of much of what we know now as the Darknet and one of the most internationally wanted fugitives in the world. Who is flirting with the worst elements of Mexican society for unknown reasons. Meet Agent Maria Ramirez (Salem Hayek) a newly hired government analyst turned field agent who was writing blogs about the Darknet but now thrown into one of the most chaotic situations in modern history. Meet Agents Black and White (Lewis Black and Chael Sonnen) men of questionable ethics who are tasked with taking William Tell down while also trying to navigate an often confusing and unclear world in Mexico. Meet Supervisor Jack (Rip Torn) an old war horse on the Beltway who has been there, done that and now just wants to keep the agents under his watch safe while doing his job the best that he can. Meet Donald Trump (Donald Trump) newly elected President of the United States who may or may not be up to the job. Meet Yuri Jackhoff (Yuri Jackhoff) perhaps the biggest and most ruthless Russian criminal in history. Yuri has his fingers in virtually everything in the underworld. But after spending nearly a year in American maximum security prisons, Yuri has become even more deranged, psychotic and unpredictable then any time previously. Meet Maurice (Raul Julia) Mysterious cartel man who has great power in a Mexican prison he is currently incarcerated. This episode also has some of the greatest AI acting performances ever experienced as the line between artificial and real is blurred to extremes never heard before. More time, energy and effort was put into the creation of this episode than any previous CaptainBlackbeard Radio episode. We sincerely hope ye listen and enjoy it! Salma Hayek’s passion project Frida —a gem of a film directed by the confounding, singular talent that is Julie Taymor—is under the microscope this week. At play: what’s the deal with communist men and the civilized way they hang out with their exes? Why are there so many children’s books about Frida Kahlo, a completely badass artist who played by her own rules, hooked up with everybody she felt like, created complex and colorful art about infidelity, politics, and miscarried babies, and endured decades of chronic pain? How hot are the communist Brangelina, Frida Kahlo and Leon Trotsky? Sara and Rena also discuss Harvey Weinstein’s monstrosity and terrible influence over this film, which past world leaders are worth swiping right on a time traveling, metaphysical Tinder, and how Alfred Molina is impossible to hate. Frida stars Salma Hayek as Frida Kahlo, Alfred Molina as Diego Rivera, Geoffrey Rush as Leon Trotsky, Valeria Golino as Lupe Marín, Ashley Judd as Tina Modotti, Mia Maestro as Cristina Kahlo, Roger Rees as Guillermo Kahlo, Antonio Banderas as David Alfaro Siqueiros, Diego Luna as Alejandro Gómez Arias, and Edward Norton as John D. Rockefeller Jr. Sources: Frida: A Biography of Frida Kahlo by Hayden Herrara. The Heart: Frida Kahlo in Paris by Marc Petijean. Spoiler Warning: We spoil everything. And we enjoy it. Follow us!
