Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek has returned to the Cannes spotlight with "The Man I Love". The latest film from indie director Ira Sachs is premiering on the Croisette alongside co-stars Rebecca Hall, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Tom Sturridge. The film sees Malek play a downtown New York performance artist during the late 1980s AIDS crisis – a role the actor compared to portraying Freddie Mercury in "Bohemian Rhapsody".

" Nuremberg " is an American historical drama film written, co-produced, and directed by James Vanderbilt. It is based on the 2013 book "The Nazi and the Psychiatrist" by Jack El-Hai and tells the story of a psychiatrist, Douglas Kelley (Rami Malek), who is challenged with determining if Hermann Göring (Russell Crowe) is fit to stand trial at the Nuremberg trials. Leo Woodall, John Slattery, Mark O'Brien, Colin Hanks, Wrenn Schmidt, Lydia Peckham, Richard E. Grant, and Michael Shannon have supporting roles in the film. The film's world premiere was in the Gala Presentations section of the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, where it received positive reviews and a four-minute standing ovation, one of TIFF's longest standing ovations ever. Vanderbilt and Malek were both kind enough to spend a few minutes speaking with us about their work and experiences making the film, which you can listen to below. President Trump said "I know nothing about it" when asked by Norah O'Donnell in an exclusive 60 Minutes interview about his pardon of crypto billionaire Changpeng Zhao. In 2023, Zhao pleaded guilty to violating anti-money-laundering laws, but Zhao and his company, Binance, have ties to the Trump family's investments in cryptocurrency. Au cinéma cette semaine : The Amateur Avec Rami Malek. Vous vous souvenez de cet acteur, c’est lui qui avait incarné Freddie Mercury dans le biopic Bohemian Rapsody. Ici changement de décors puisqu’il joue Charlie, un informaticien de la CIA. Son boulot c’est analyser et décrypter des fichiers sur son ordinateur. Un vrai geek. Mais quand sa femme est tuée dans une prise d’otage il n’a alors qu’une seule obsession...retrouver et tuer ses meurtriers ! Charlie, l’informaticien timide et introverti va donc aller sur le terrain pour tuer, un à un ces assassins.. oubliez le coté James Bond et téméraire. Lui, il va utiliser son génie et ses compétences informatiques pour tuer. Ce qui donne quelques chouettes rebondissements. The Amateur est un bon film d’espionnage avec un Rami Malek convaincant ; attachant aussi ! Il a d’ailleurs bien bossé le sujet : il a rencontré ces espions pas comme les autres. The amateur est à voir cette semaine au ciné ! La semaine prochaine, sort aussi « Natacha (presque) hôtesse de l’air » Vous vous souvenez peut-être de cette célèbre bande dessinée qui nous racontait les aventures de Natacha. La voilà ici adaptée au cinéma... ou plutôt réinventée. Notre Natacha essaie tant bien que mal d’être engagée mais elle ne correspond aux critères de l’époque. Nous sommes dans les années 70. Et quand vient son tour, voilà que son avion qui devait transporter la Joconde se fait braquer ! Bon alors qui pour incarner Natacha ? Et bien c’est Camille Lou qui a été choisie. Elle a notamment joué dans le Bazar de la Charité. A ses côtés: Didier Bourdon, Elza Zylberstein, Isabelle Adjani ou encore Fabrice Lucchini en voix off de narrateur, assez drôle. On retrouve aussi l’humoriste Vincent Dedienne. Le récit se passe dans les années 70 avec plein d’anachronismes plus ou moins drôles, plus ou moins efficaces. J’ai bien aimé tout même le côté très indépendant de cette Natacha version 2025. Les BD étaient quand même très sexualisées. Ici Natacha est très féministe. Ce film il est d’ailleurs réalisé par Noémie Saglio, la créatrice entre autre de Connasse avec Camille Cottin. « Natacha (presque) hôtesse de l’air » c’est le titre de cette comédie parfois un peu surjouée mais globalement réussie et à découvrir en famille la semaine prochaine. People wanted this, so we did it, and one of us is WAY happier about it than the other. Is Bohemian Rhapsody an efficient, joyful look at the life and genius of Freddie Mercury and his fellow geniuses in Queen, or is it a Wikipedia-skimming, nightmarishly-edited, lie-filled romp through fan-service hell? Things we can agree on: Adam Lambert is unconvincing as a truck driver, Bob Geldof’s fame is mystifying, and Mike Myers should not have been allowed in this movie. Things we can’t agree on: the offensiveness of the false teeth worn by our film’s star, Rami Malek, whether Freddie Mercury’s innate decency and Queen’s glorious gifts as a rock outfit are used as a shield against criticism of this film’s flaws, and whether this movie has any value given the liberties it takes with anything resembling reality. Other questions, resolved and unresolved: Is Freddie Mercury actually Santa Claus, given that his time-bending ability to visit every Jim Hutton in London on the morning of Life Aid and establish a healthy relationship is similar to Santa’s capacity for visiting a billion households in one night? Could you buy a wild animal at Biba? Which member of the cast of Game of Thrones is a more convincingly crappy John Reid?
