The week of January 10, 2024 on The Metallica Report… We have a visit from an old friend as Steffan and Renée check in with bassist Jason Newsted. Amid an unusually quiet time in his creative world, Jason talks about plans, projects, and how he’s allowing himself to enjoy the simplicity of his day-to-day life. Of course, we still have to touch on his artistic side, from keeping his visual art skills active to his love of the live show, including his contributions to Metallica and one of his most memorable nights on stage with the Four Horsemen at Red Rocks in Morrison, CO. Here is a big chunk of one of our past shows for you. Enjoy this interview we did with Jason as we cover so many topics and fanboy out to him. Only wish we had more time with him to talk more personal stuff with him. Behind the scenes stuff. We covered his solo work, some Metallica moments, the ending days in tallica. Also some fun topics such as racing big wheels, Paul Stanly artwork, and so much more. This is more of a fun and entertaining interviews. Clearly not one to get answers to why or complaining. Its indeed an interview with friends.
We kicked off this week's show getting a call from Israeli Guy. We spent a lot of time talking about the giant disaster that was the Fyre Festival . A Livecast fan shared a very interesting story about Chuck Berry which led us to go on a rant for a second week in a row about his infamous sex tape. Rob played some of his interview with Fronz from Attila and we discussed if we wanted to live like porn stars or fuck like them. At the end of the show, we welcomed legendary bassist Jason Newsted (Metallica, Flotsam and Jetsam, Voivod) to discuss his art being on display at an upcoming exhibit in NYC , at Art New York, which takes over Pier 94 in New York City beginning May 3 to 7, 2017. We talked to Jason about the show, how he got into visual art, Metallica's performance at the GRAMMYs with Lady Gaga, and some discussion about finances.
