UKRAINIAN LAWMAKERS OF THE Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, have fired Ombudswoman Lyudmila Denisova after a vote of no-confidence almost one year before her term's end. Lawmakers Yaroslav Zheleznyak and Oleksiy Honcharenko said the move was approved by parliament on May 31. Denisova, like most politicians who are dismissed, politicised the situation and denounced the office of President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Andriy Smyrnov, deputy chief of the presidential office, rejected the accusation. Denisova asserted that Zelenskiy "did not approve of my work, which aimed to gather and analyze information about human rights violations in occupied areas." One such criticism was the indignation of the unsubstantiated claims that Russians were committing alleged mass rape and sexual assaults. These assertions were utilized in public reports as well as the alleged dissemination in those reports of unverified information. One unsubstantiated claim made by Denisova was an example of a 25-year-old woman who said she was made to watch the rape of her 16-year-old sister and begged that they rape her instead. She went on to describe the alleged rapes of two 11-year-olds, a girl and a boy, and a 14-year-old. CNN featured one such article with a headline that screamed: “Ukraine has accused Russian soldiers of using rape as a tool of war. These two women say justice is hard to come by.” The CNN article includes the quote, “There have been 700 reports since the first of April.” Business Insider’s article , published around the same time, included the claims by Denisova that Russian soldiers committed 400 rapes since the start of the conflict, including sexual assaults against teenage girls. Neither the CNN article nor the Business Insider’s article has been amended or redacted since Denisova’s remarks admitting her claim was false. According to the online news platform Ukrinform, one member of the Ukrainian parliament, Pavlo Frolov, provided a number of reasons why Denisova was removed, including "the numerous details of 'unnatural sexual offenses' and child sexual abuses in the occupied territories, which were unsupported by evidence and only harmed Ukraine." BUT WHO WAS DENISOVA ANYWAYS? She was Ukraine’s queen of propaganda. She was a student of Goebbels who excelled in the art of misdirection. Misinformation and hype, disinformation and deception, malinformation and misrepresentation are the tools of her trade; this is what President Trump meant when he talked of “fake news.” She was the root of the west’s propaganda machine pumping out unverifiable claims, outlandish assertions, and storied allegations about so-called “war crimes” Russia has committed. These claims were not even alleged but taken as fact. Denisova stayed focused too much on Facebook describing unverifiable crimes such as sexually motivated crimes—in gratuitous detail—as well as the raping of children in occupied territories. "Sexually motivated crimes during wartime are a tragedy, but they should not be the subject of a kind of 'chronicle of scandal'," an open letter penned by 140 activists, media professionals, lawyers, psycologists, and other public figures stated. Many mainstream media outlets such as Newsweek, The Business Insider, The Daily Beast, The Sun, The Daily Mail, The New York Times, hundreds of others have uncritically cited Denisova’s unevidenced claims in their [lack of] reporting of events in Ukraine. But this is to be expected as most of the MSM are nothing but a mouthpiece for the government—left and right. Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russian troops of carrying out 'hundreds of rapes
