Connor and Dylan are joined by Heather Morris (Glee, 11 to Midnight). The twins are together for a GLEEful spring reunion in the Big Apple, and they’re quite frankly gagged to be in the presence of this dancing diva. You know and love their guest from portraying Brittany S. Pierce on the musical comedy Glee. Now through May 11th, you can see her slay onstage in Cost n' Mayor’s off-Broadway dance show 11 to Midnight . These three hit it off, gabbing about the Glee renaissance in NYC with Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele, Kevin McHale, Darren Criss, and of course HeMo. Heather opens up about living in Arizona with her boys, her botox-free lifestyle, and making the most of her stint in NYC. We get the scoop on her recent appearance in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as a guest speller, as well as sharing an onstage dance with Mr. Shue himself, Matt Morrison, in Just in Time on Broadway. Listen as we wax poetic about Heather’s favorite Glee guest stars, dealing with anxiety while on set, brushes with reality competition shows, and all things 11 to Midnight, from cropped rugby tees to onstage highlights. Oh, did you know Heather WON The Masked Dancer as a pair of scissors? Things get astrological, y’all! Settle in for this fabulous chat with Heather, and catch her while you can in 11 to Midnight this spring! In Sole Survivor by Derek Hansen, Rosie Trethewey leaves her unhappy city life after inheriting a remote shack on New Zealand’s Great Barrier Island, hoping for a fresh start. There, she meets two isolated and troubled neighbors, Red O’Hara, a traumatized former prisoner of war, and Angus McLeod, a bitter retired policeman, whose lives she gradually changes. As outside forces threaten their island home, the three form an unlikely bond and learn to heal from the pain of their pasts. My guest this week is author Heather Morris . In 2003, Heather met Lale Sokolov, whose story inspired The Tattooist of Auschwitz , now one of the 21st century’s bestselling books and adapted in 2024 as a widely acclaimed Stan Original Series. It was followed by Cilka’s Journey and Three Sisters , completing the Tattooist trilogy. Her first contemporary novel, The Wish, was inspired by her years working in a public hospital, alongside families facing the toughest of times with love and courage. The Wish’s US publication date is May 5, 2026. Her upcoming novel, The Piano Teacher of Montparnasse , releases in October 2026, and tells the story of French Resistance fighter Andrée Levallois, who risked her life to protect one of her students during the war. Heather’s books have sold over 19 million copies worldwide. The drink this week is one Heather enjoys on vacation, and I enjoy most days: Chardonnay! I have to note that since Heather is in Australia and I am in the US, during the actual recording of this she was enjoying her morning coffee while I sipped a cold glass of wine. In this episode I chat with the incredible Heather Morris about her second book, Cilka's Journey. Launched in 2019 (yes - I'm catching up), Cilka's Journey is the follow-up story to The Tattooist of Auschwitz which took the world by storm when it hit out shelves in 2018. The Tattooist of Auschwitz was the first book we did in The Grown-Up Girls Report podcast in 2020. You can listen to the episode here. During my chat with Heather we talk about her relationship with Lale Sokolov, the gentleman who was the inspiration for The Tattooist of Auschwitz, her journey to uncover Cilka's story, her decision not to back away from talking about sexual violence and why this book is so incredibly relevant for our COVID affected world.
