Elliott Morgan is one of the members of The Valleyfolk, a crowd-funded Internet comedy troupe that won the inaugural season of NBC's Bring The Funny in the summer of 2019, winning $250,000 and an invitation to perform at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. That's a long way from central Florida, where Morgan grew up and got married at a young age. Morgan grew up in comedy online thanks to a gig as one of the original members of SourceFed, a Google-funded YouTube channel that had more than 1.6 million subscribers when it stopped making videos in 2017. He talks to me about all of that, plus working on Hollywood Boulevard as a costumed character, releasing an early stand-up special on Vimeo, working with historic YouTube accounts and what it means to be a YouTuber now, and joking through his failed marriage on his second stand-up special, "Holy Shit," which he released in October 2019 via Comedy Dynamics. There's a lot to get to, so let's get to it!

Elliott Morgan is a comedian from Central Florida known for posting hilarious videos on YouTube and is also part of the sketch comedy group, The Valleyfolk. I first saw Elliott perform about 2 years ago and have been following his career ever since. His wit and humor bring light to some of the dark areas of my life such as divorce, religion and finding out who I am as a man. Coming off a really rough week in the world, I offer some of my strategies for making my depression brain do things it really doesn't want to do, like stay alive sometimes and segue into an episode that represents what I think is the surest way in the world to make life better and that is just spending time talking with friends you really love. Elliott Morgan is very funny and smart and in complete disclosure we got kinda too high on this episode, which is not normally something I do before interviews, and it's probably the least focused most truly good bad brain pinball extravaganza we've done yet but, you know what, it might be one of my favorites. I don't know. You'll love it or hate it. Maybe it'll work to just zone out and lose any sense of meaning and just hear Elliott and I bounce words off each other in the way we love to do.
