Synopsis "EMILY” tells the imagined life of one of the world’s most famous authors, Emily Brontë, a rebel and misfit, finds her voice and writes the literary classic Wuthering Heights. “EMILY” explores the relationships that inspired her – her raw, passionate sisterhood with Charlotte and Anne; her first aching, forbidden love for Weightman and her care for her maverick brother Branwell whom she idolizes. Emily is haunted by the death of her mother, struggles within the confines of her family life and yearns for artistic and personal freedom. So begins a journey to channel her creative potential.

Frances O’Connor makes her directorial debut with “ Emily ,” from her own original screenplay. The film also stars Adrian Dunbar (“Line of Duty”) and Gemma Jones (“Bridget Jones’s Baby”, “Gentleman Jack”).

Houmi Miura Houmi Miura is a Japanese British female actor, writer and theatre-maker based in Manchester. She is currently developing her solo show, In The Beginning Woman Was The Sun, and has written sketches for CBBC’s The Amelia Gething Complex. She’s shortlisted for the Alfred Bradley Bursary Award and was part of BBC Writersroom’s Northern Voices 2020. Houmi has performed for Royal Exchange, Stephen Joseph Theatre, Oldham Coliseum, New Earth and York Theatre Royal. She has filmed for BBC One, Amazon, Netflix, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky. Houmi has provided voiceover for the Total War gaming franchise and for the VR short film To Miss The End, showcased at Sundance Film Festival.
